Tips to Collect Email Addresses For Your Small Business

Some time ago, I wrote an article about tips to collect email addresses. In it, I discussed why you should not use free web sites to find people to sell your products to. In this article, I will tell you another one of the most effective ways to find potential customers. You should not ignore pop-up windows or advertisements when you visit a website. Many times these window advertisements will direct you to opt-in pages where you can enter your email address in order to receive news letters, newsletters or other announcements from the company you are looking at.

Many companies place these pop-up windows on their websites in order to capture customer information. If you click on the window, you will be taken to an extra form for which you will have to provide your e-mail address. Sometimes this form asks for your mailing address so that they can send you electronic mail addresses of potential clients. While this method may work to some extent, it is better to collect the mailing addresses of your potential clients yourself. You will be able to build a very strong opt-in list with the help of this method.

If you are using a free web site to collect email addresses, you should also look for a way to remove the pop-up window. Most free sites will allow you to remove the pop-up if you so desire. However, you will need to find the code for this feature and insert it into the HTML code of the website. This is the easiest way to remove a pop-up advertisement from appearing on your website.

Once you have used the website to collect email addresses, you will also want to develop an opt-in page. Your opt-in page should be attractive, neat and professional. It should collect the name and contact information of each subscriber. It is also important to include a newsletter subscription box, which will allow your email subscribers to subscribe to your regular newsletter.

One of the most common ways to collect email addresses for your small business is by offering free gifts such as a free eBook or video training course. You will be able to collect email addresses by offering free courses and videos to potential customers. Again, you will need to design your free gift in a manner that allows the recipient to complete the transaction by clicking on the link to your website. For instance, you could create an opt-in form that requires the potential customer to visit your website and enter their name and address before they can complete the initial registration process. After you have this information, you can then use a high quality autoresponder system to capture the information and send out an automatic email to the subscriber.

Another way to collect email addresses from potential customers is to provide them with a pop-up window that requires them to click on the link to your website. Once they do this, a message will appear that collects their name and address. Again, you will want to design this form in such a manner that makes it simple for the user to sign up for your mailing list. For instance, you may want to provide a pop-up sign-up button so the user will be encouraged to fill out the form prior to continuing to the website.
